Mini-Budget: Benefits

On Friday 23rd September Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng announced his Growth Plan, which will tackle energy costs to help reduce inflation, support businesses and help households. Here are the changes being made;

New measures have also been introduced to help people secure more work and better pay.


This means that those on Universal Credit are required to meet regularly with their work coach and to take active steps to increase their earnings, or face having their benefits reduced. This plan is expected to help 120,000 people.


There are also plans to give jobseekers over 50 extra support and time with their work coaches to help them return to the jobs market.
